Therapeutic Relationship Focusing on the Treatment Alliance

Transference has been most commonly payed attention to the relationship between the analyst and the patient. But another aspect of the patient’s relation to the analyst were discussed by some authors. They named the concepts as ’treatment alliance’ or ’working alliance’. These concepts were focused on the patients’s ego function to carry the appropriate psychoanalytic process. In contrast with the transference these concepts included rational and realistic components with the relationship between the patient and the analyst. The author reviewed these concepts and also tried to apply these concepts to the psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
